1. Spending time alone may help you to be more creative and come up with new ideas and/or find solutions to problems.
2. Alone time gives an opportunity for Svadhyaya or self-study one of the Niyamas from the path of yoga. When we take time alone to practice Svadhyaya it can bring a new perspective and understanding of our life experiences and lessons which can be profound and strengthening to the spirit.
3. Gives you the space to tune into your body and its physical changes and needs. Sometimes we need some quiet time to listen to our own needs making sure they are met, and nourish ourselves through holistic practices, a new supplement or nutritious and healthy food.
4. Being alone in meditation with nature or simply away from social media and electronics for a good period of time will allow for complete recharge and rest. Rest is too often neglected and at this time of change rest is so important it is so vital we cannot underestimate the necessity of deep wholesome rest. One of the best ways to rest effectively is to practice Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep, and no matter where you are, you can get the benefit of a mini vacation and much more by practicing it.
5. Keep in mind the butterfly metaphor is most apt for the process of change and transformation, and without the chrysalis stage of solitude there would be no butterfly.
